コンセプト
Blessing (Baraka) describes a quality of sacred abundance that flows through people, places, objects, and actions. A blessed thing multiplies: the blessed food feeds more than it should, the blessed house shelters more than it can. Baraka flows from divine source through human hands, often through the hands of those who work without expecting return.
البركة تصف جودة من الوفرة المقدسة التي تتدفق عبر الناس والأماكن والأشياء. الشيء المبارك يتكاثر. البركة تتدفق من مصدر إلهي عبر أيدي البشر.
模様について
The Sun of Hebron sends its rays in sixteen directions from one sacred center — not choosing which land to warm, not reserving its light for the worthy. This is Baraka: sacred abundance that flows without preference from its source. Hebron (al-Khalil, the Friend of God) is named for Abraham, and the solar motif carries this theological weight. The embroidered sun was made from the colors of the land it blessed.

Start at the center circle
Fill the small circle at the absolute center — deep gold or amber.

Trace each ray from center outward — do not fill yet, just define the structure.
Fill alternating ray sections
Fill every other section between rays in your primary color — leaving alternating sections light.
Add the triangle tips
Each ray ends in a small triangle — fill these in a contrasting deep color.
Complete the concentric polygon rings

文化的な背景
The Sun of Hebron (Shams al-Khalil) is documented from the Hebron highlands — the southernmost major Palestinian city and one of the most historically significant. Hebron (al-Khalil, the Friend of God) is named for its Quranic association with Abraham, who is believed to be buried at the Ibrahimi Mosque. The city's solar motif carries this theological weight: the sun as the most visible expression of divine blessing.
Hebron was a major center of olive oil production, grape cultivation, glass-making, and leather-working in Ottoman-era Palestine. Its trade connections extended across the Mediterranean and into the Arabian Peninsula. The solar motif in Hebron Tatreez encodes this commercial centrality — the city as the source from which goods and culture radiated outward to the region.
The Hebron palette — warm amber, deep burgundy, and the natural linen ground — reflects the dyestuffs specific to the region: madder root for red, pomegranate for amber, indigo for the deep tones. These were not imported luxury materials but the products of the Hebron agricultural tradition itself. The embroidered sun was made from the colors of the land it celebrated.
